In the seated position, the knees are pulled up close to the body, and they are well-defined. One hand holds an attribute of fertility—a sphere—while the other is partially broken. The facial features and silhouette are faintly outlined. The goddess wears a headpiece, a kalathos, on her head. Demeter is depicted seated on a throne.
