Chevra Kadisha - "Holy community", the name for the community of a certain city, village, or town (kahal), in the realities of the 19th and 20th centuries, it was also the name for charitable societies which were mainly engaged in proper organization from a religious point of view of burials of the poor. Membership in such organization was an indication of high social status. On the day of Abraham's death, the 7th of Adar, the members of these societies had a certain professional holiday, which also involved drinking wine from special glasses.
