All three ends of the anchor are broken and rounded. Ancient Greek amulets of this type were quite common among sailors. Due to a number of reasons, including demographic crises, they were forced to colonize new territories such as Asia Minor, Samothrace, and the Northern Black Sea region. Greek maritime trade was also quite developed; they fully mastered the Mediterranean Sea and ventured into the Atlantic ocean.
