The wooden sarcophagus is stylized in the shape of a bird. Carved features include the head, body, legs, and tail. At the top, an opening is cut for the mummy. The mummy of the hawk is wrapped in fabric, with the beak and head prominently visible, while the tail is fully wrapped. In ancient Egypt, the practice of mummification was widespread and used for both humans and animals. Egyptian gods were often depicted with animal heads, and the hawk was associated with the god Horus, who held a central role in Egyptian mythology.
